Beavers won the “Group” Fancy Dress competition at the Wingerworth Funday with their giant Birthday Cake – pictures here.
It was a great turnout and so good to see all the village organisations supporting it.
Thanks to the Beavers for both Parading and making the costume.  Also thanks to Teresa for the creative idea.

It was great to see so many young people and adults supporting Scouting by attending the Parade to honour the patron saint of Scouting – St George.
The weather held out and we were able to Parade in the sunshine.

Beavers managed to circumnavigate the globe during their “Around The World In A Day” Sleepover.

Starting from Tansley they visited, Scotland (Caber Tossing), Mainland Europe (Dinner), Africa (Masks), China (Chopstick Game), Indonesia (Ant, Man, Elephant Game), Australia (Campfire), Mexico (Film) and America (Breakfast and Gold mining).
Safely returning to the UK in time to go home.
Thanks to all involved, a great time was had by all.

Another award gained for one of our Leaders.

On the morning of 8 September 1919, 19 men dressed in short trousers and knee socks, their shirt sleeves rolled up, assembled for the first Scoutmasters’ training camp at Gilwell Park. The camp was designed and run by Robert Baden-Powell.

After months of planning a sleepover it seemed that the pretty, fluffy white snow would scupper our plans.
With no way of getting into the site at Tansley we managed to switch venues back to our own Hutt.
A HUGE thanks go out to all those who attended, braving the snow, walking to the Hutt, getting stuck in the car park & pushing cars out of the snow!!!
A grand time was had by all when we went fishing, made lobsters and octopus’s (octopi? ;-)), sat around the beach campfire and went deep …
