Scouts

ScoutsOur Scout section is open to boys and girls between 10½ and 14 years old.  We meet once a week during term time on a Thursday between 7.30 and 9.00pm

camp-sIf your child would like to join us to see whether they like Scouts or to arrange a start date if your child is not quite old enough, please use the Contact Us page on our website.  If they are already in the Cub Section at age 10½ they will automatically move up to Cubs.

Each week we hold meetings, the majority of which are held at the Scout Hut but on occasion we will have activities planned that take us out and about maybe hiking, cycling or playing large wide games.  We spend a lot of time learning traditional scouting skills which enable us to go on camps together.  We have regular camps both as a troop and alongside the Beavers and Cubs of 3rd Wingerworth Scout Group.  Some examples of recent camps are A week in Guernsey, a “Back to Basics” camp and an expedition camp.  We also joined thousands of other Scouts at Peak 2010 held on the Chatsworth Estate, Derbyshire.

stile-sWe are involved with the local community and put on an annual bonfire and firework display and also our own Pantomime every Christmas.

Being a Scout gives you great opportunities – just  have a look at the range of Badges that you can work towards here.

Details of where to sew on the badges can be found here.

Uniform can be purchased at the Chesterfield District Scout Shop
